Swell or
Swill?
The occasional page of stuff we like. This
issue we’ve helped plan your summer for you. Enter our quick
guide to what we think is worth doing when it’s sunny.
Surely one of the summer’s highlights is
the theatre adaptation of the Terry Pratchett novel ‘Wyrd
Sisters’ being performed at the Minack Theatre in Penzance.
A parody of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, this is one of Pratchett’s
best books and makes for a superb performance. Suitable for all
ages it should prove to be an excellent show. Running from July
25th - 29th. www.minack.com.
NH.
Kicking off on the 6th August is Falmouth Week.
Last year saw major events on and off the water, so lots of action
to keep sailors and landlubbers alike entertained. Last year saw
Athelete and 13 Senses playing at the Events Square. This years
line up hasn’t been totally finalised but stay updated on:

Best to book early as it’s one of the busiest weeks of the
summer. NH.
On May 27th, Run to the Sun will take Newquay
by storm in a 3-day event set to attract thousands. The VW and Custom
Car cruise heralding the opening of the festival is the defining
element, although the entertainment certainly takes centre stage.
Experience that unmistakable feeling of euphoria as three arenas
hosted by visiting legends tantalise the appetite for new levels
of partying, inspired by Judge Jules, Andy Farley, and Point Blank.
Swell or swill? Judging from the seventy cars that originally rolled
up in 1987, leaping to 10,000 revellers in 2004, the swell factor
is seemingly high. RC.
